Ballet Dance Courses   View Complete Course Schedule Course Description Tutus and Tiaras An interactive dance class for toddlers and their caregivers. Explore dance through song, rhymes, props and creative movement. A fun class that will build your little one’s confidence, self-esteem and social skills. Tutus and tiaras are encouraged! (Age 2) Pre-school dance level I and II Synthesized from educational research and developmental theories, the curriculum was designed with young children’s intellectual, emotional and motor development in mind. The curriculum is split into two levels: Level I: 3 yrs Level II: 4 yrs The aim of this program is to develop children into confident coordinated and well socialized individuals. At the end of each level a demonstration class is held for parents with a certified RAD examiner present. Pre-Primary- Grade 8 This Graded syllabus consists of three different components; classical, free movement and character dance. -Classical: The Classical work is the foundation and the most important part of the Graded Syllabi. -Free movement: The free movement section incorporates movements in common with other dance styles such as natural movement, contemporary based dance and Greek dance. -Character dance: Character dance is the theatrical presentation of national dance using original ethnic dance and music which has been freely adapted for the theatre. There are three styles - Hungarian, Russian and Polish - and these were selected because of their historic importance in the development of the traditional full-length classical ballets. ** The grade level your child belongs is dependent on their skill and experience level. Each child is subject to evaluation for their safety and well being. Grade 1 typically starts at age 7.** Each grade builds upon the previous grade with added difficulty and technical ability. Pre-primary: 5+ yrs Primary: 6+ yrs Grades 1-5: 7+ yrs Grades 6-8: 11+ yrs Intermediate Foundation-Advanced 2 The Vocational Graded syllabus is the continuation of classical ballet from the Academy’s Graded Syllabus where Pointe work for females is introduced for the first time. This syllabus has been designed to give the necessary training to students wishing to study seriously with a possible view to following a career in dance or dance related subjects. Students are required to attend ballet classes at least twice a week. Intermediate Foundation: 11+ yrs Intermediate: 12+ yrs Advanced Foundation: 13+ yrs Advanced I: 14+ yrs Advanced II: 15+ yrs Adult Ballet Our adult program is unique. We offer ballet classes for those that never had an opportunity to learn classical ballet but always desired to: our novice program. Our beginner class is for those that have some knowledge but need to brush up on the basics. The intermediate and advanced classes are for the more experienced dancer. The novice program is 6 weeks long and you may repeat as often as you wish before moving into the beginner class. All of our adult classes will have onsite childcare available at a low price with a qualified caregiver. Children will have their own safe room with toys and activities. Spaces will be limited
