This is an important message that outlines the spring show rehearsal schedule. Please take the time to review as it will directly impact you/your child over the coming months as we prepare the Spring Show. It is broken into three sections: guiding principles, fluff, and schedule calendar.
GUIDING PRINCIPALS:
This show involves, to some degree, all of us. If you signed up then it definitely includes you. The following are our rehearsal guiding principals:
- It is our expectation that students attend all their scheduled rehearsals; other students depend on your student’s attendance.
- We expect a minimum of two weeks of advance notice if your child can not make a certain rehearsal; we recognize life happens
- Ballet students participating in the show should expect more Saturday rehearsals than Non Ballet Students. The primary reason is their portion involves coordination with multiple classes.
- Any ballet participating student who has TWO unexcused absences are subject to removal from the show; no refunds
- Any non-ballet participating student who has ONE unexcused absences are subject to removal from the show; no refunds
- Any student who misses the Full Dress Rehearsal, scheduled for 21 MAY, will not participate in the show; no refunds
- We reserve the right to pull a student from participation in the show if we feel they have become a detriment; regardless of age.
- WORK HARD HAVE FUN
GOOD FLUFF:
The Spring Show is a major event for our school, students, family and friends. It is the one time out of the year where the vast majority of our students are on performance display in great costume gala. This is a time where family and friends come together and watch a lot of hard work come together for a short time. It is always our objective to put together a good quality program; a program you are excited to see. This is our objective and we will need your help. A good show, like anything a “good anything”, comes with hard work. The students need to stay focused and will require additional work beyond their regular weekly classes.
Our Spring Show is broken into two parts. The first half is a mini ballet production that involves all levels of ballet students working together. The second half features performances of the various dance genres; including modern, jazz, street fusion, and ballet. This year we are pleased to announce our mini ballet production is all original choreography to Jane Austin’s “Pride and Prejudice”.
REHEARSAL CALENDAR:
We recognize that there are a lot of important activities occurring at the same time and we also recognize the importance of good planning to help de-conflict competing calendars. We have put together a comprehensive rehearsal schedule that should allow us to meet our objectives. This schedule will include occasional Saturday rehearsals between now and May. The month of May will require more regular rehearsals. You are receiving this information in advance to properly prepare. 1) PLEASE IDENTIFY WHICH GROUP YOU/YOUR CHILD IS IN. 2) REVIEW REHEARSAL DATES THAT CORRESPOND TO YOUR GROUP.
